Ines Girard, who works for women’s rights, said that the solution cannot be to ask the person being recorded to be more careful. He says that companies making smart glasses should also ensure that their technology is not used to harass people or violate their privacy. Questions on smart glasses in other countries too. Germany: Criminal complaint has been filed against Meta and many companies related to smart glasses. America: A man secretly recorded videos of people inside a detention center. After this, American security agencies expressed concern about this. Britain: The use of Meta’s smart glasses with cameras is banned in the courts of England and Wales. Some theaters have also banned their use due to fear of piracy. Norway: The use of smart glasses has been banned in schools due to the privacy of students. Australia: The government is considering banning smart glasses with cameras in government offices. Meta can bring smart glasses without camera. Amidst the privacy questions being raised regarding smart glasses, Meta is preparing to bring a new glasses which will not have a camera. According to the report, its name could be Luna. These glasses will have six microphones and speakers near the ears. Through these the user will be able to talk to Meta’s AI. That means there will be no need for a camera to use AI. A separate button can also be provided to turn on AI in the glasses. It will look just like normal glasses. Meta can bring it in new designs named Clubmaster and Burbank. According to the report, Meta may announce this in its developer event to be held from September 23. Its sales are said to start at the end of this year.
