The West Bengal government has not got any relief from the Supreme Court in the case of including 77 castes including Muslims in the OBC category. In fact, the Supreme Court has refused to stay the decision of the High Court. The Supreme Court asked the West Bengal government to provide within a week the details of the survey conducted to determine the social and educational backwardness of 77 communities before including them in the OBC list and data about their alleged under-representation in state government services.
