PM Modi On Ties With Croatia
PM Modi said that India and Croatia have decided to triple the pace of their bilateral engagement during his government’s third term, with a special focus on defence cooperation and economic ties. Speaking alongside Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, PM Modi announced that a comprehensive Defence Cooperation Plan will be developed to guide long-term collaboration.
“This plan will include training, military exchanges, and cooperation in the defence industry,” he said, underscoring the shared commitment to strengthen strategic ties.
PM Modi also highlighted that both nations have identified key complementary areas in their economies and have agreed to intensify cooperation to boost bilateral trade and build reliable supply chains.
He pointed to sectors like pharmaceuticals, agriculture, information technology, clean energy, digital innovation and renewable technologies as areas of immediate opportunity.
“We will promote collaboration in these critical areas to create sustainable, future-ready partnerships,” PM Modi said, adding that the third term of his government would mark a new chapter in India–Croatia relations.
PM Modi also said, “Croatian companies will be able to take advantage of India’s IT manpower. We discussed ways to promote tourism between the two countries. I have clearly experienced the popularity of Yoga here. 21st June is International Yoga Day, and I am sure that the people of Croatia will celebrate it with great enthusiasm.”
