1. Agniveer: On July 1, 2024, Rahul Gandhi had said in the Lok Sabha that Agniveers are use and throw laborers for the government. The government neither gives pension, nor compensation nor martyr status to Agniveers. After this statement of Rahul, a controversy started on the issue. JDU spokesperson KC Tyagi, an ally of the government, has also demanded a change on Agniveer.
On March 28, 2024, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had said that the government is ready to make changes in the Agniveer Recruitment Scheme. But no changes have been made yet. Railways had set a target of installing Kavach on at least 5000 KM routes across the country in the financial year 2022-23, but till June 2024, it has been installed on only 1500 KM track.
