Questions are being raised on the role of women in the secret service. It is alleged that they are not good guards.
In the US, former President Donald Trump was attacked last Saturday. He was addressing an election rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Then a bullet fired from an assault rifle from a distance of 400 feet grazed his ear. The snipers deployed for Trump’s security immediately killed the 20-year-old attacker.
In the viral video related to this incident, it is seen that as soon as the firing started, the Secret Service agents covered Trump from all sides. During this time, some female agents wearing black suits and dark glasses were also seen guarding Donald Trump.
These women took Trump down from the stage and safely took him to the car. During this time, these female agents stood in front of Trump like a shield without caring for their lives. But now these female agents are on target. According to NYT reports, some people have alleged that the female agents involved in the Secret Service are the real culprits of the attack on Trump.

On July 13, Trump was attacked at a rally in Pennsylvania.
‘Female agents did not work properly’
According to the report, some conservatives believe that the female agents did not do their job properly. They said that women are not suitable for such tasks. They are small and weak and they also weigh more than men. They cannot protect a tall person like Trump.
Florida Republican Representative Corey Mills accused Fox News that the Biden administration has recruited a lot of women in the Secret Service. He said that important recruitments like Secret Service agents are also being done on the basis of diversity and equality.
Kimberly Cheatle is the 27th Director of the Secret Service.
Secret service director will appear in parliament
Kimberly Cheatle is currently the director of the Secret Service. She has been leading the Secret Service since September 2022 and is the second female director in the history of this agency. People are now demanding her resignation. Cheatle has been asked to appear in Parliament on July 22 to testify regarding the incident related to Trump.
According to Fortune’s report, Cheatle has long been trying to diversify the Secret Service. She has set a target of filling 30% of the Secret Service with women agents by 2030. Currently, the Secret Service has 24% women agents.
Flood of anti-women comments on social media
Republican Party supporter and activist Matt Walsh has made anti-women comments in a post on X. He has posted a video of an attack on Trump in which three women are seen taking the former president in an SUV. Along with this, he has written – They are expected to be the best but the truth is that these women do not deserve it. In my opinion, there should be no women in the Secret Service.
This picture is going viral on social media. In this, a female secret agent is seen scared during the attack.
Elon Musk also supported
X’s owner Elon Musk has agreed with this. Musk wrote on social media – I believe the women involved in this event were too ‘small’ to cover Trump and were not selected on the basis of merit. You cannot expect security from them. Musk has written in the next post that there can be women in the Secret Service but they must be ‘tall’ and strong.
‘President is at greater risk because of female agents’
Another right-winger Benny Johnson wrote on social media – The presence of women agents in the Secret Service is an insult to this agency. In their presence, the President is less safe. Another female blogger Megan McCain wrote – Men and women are the same, this is nonsense. It is a simple thing that the guards should be taller, only then will they be able to protect someone. Why have these short women been kept to protect Trump (who cannot even handle their guns)? This is shameful and dangerous.

Former agent upset with anti-women comments
Kim Craven, executive director of the National Association of Women Law Enforcement Executives, condemned the misogynistic comments. She told the New York Times that discussions about whether the Secret Service should have female agents are simply an attempt to distract attention from security issues.
Men have been doing such work for centuries. They have made mistakes many times. Their failure has been exposed many times but till date no question has been raised that men do not know how to protect. They have never been questioned on the basis of their gender.
He further said that the incident will be reviewed. There is a need to discuss what went wrong and what changes need to be made, but there should be no such conversation that just because someone is a woman, she should not lead an agency.
Craven said that women working in agencies do not get entry just like that. They too have to fulfil the same standards that are required for any other man.

Trump appeared on a public platform for the first time after the attack. He was seen without any female agents.
Trump arrived without any female service agent
Donald Trump arrived at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on Monday night. This was his first public event since the shooting at the rally last week. During this time, he was accompanied by a team of Secret Service agents but there were no women in it.
