The stock market is witnessing a rise today i.e. on 20th August. The Sensex is trading at the level of 80,650 with a gain of more than 200 points. Nifty is also up by more than 50 points. It is trading at the level of 24,650. Out of the 30 Sensex stocks, 26 are witnessing a rise and 4 are witnessing a fall.
Ola Electric’s stock has gained more than 7% today. Its stock is trading above Rs 150. Ola’s stock was listed in the market on August 9 at Rs 76. Since then, this stock has doubled.
Japan’s Nikkei index rose 1.68%
- Mixed trading is being seen in Asian markets. Japan’s Nikkei index is up by 1.68%. China’s Shanghai Composite is down by 0.84% and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is down by 0.29%.
- On Monday, the US market witnessed a rise. The Dow Jones closed at 40,896, up 236.77 (0.58%) points. Whereas the NASDAQ closed at 17,876, up 245.05 (1.39%) points.
- Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) sold shares worth ₹2,667.46 crore on August 19. During this period, Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) bought shares worth ₹1,802.92 crore. That is, foreign investors sold yesterday.

Today is the second day of Interarch Building Products Limited’s Initial Public Offer (IPO). This IPO has been subscribed 3.27 times so far. Investors will be able to bid for shares till August 21. Earlier, yesterday, i.e. on August 19, the stock market witnessed flat trading. The Sensex closed at 80,424 with a fall of 12 points. On the other hand, the Nifty gained 31 points. It closed at 24,572.
