Delhi CM Rekha Gupta was attacked on the morning of 20 August. Accused Rajesh Sakariya has been arrested.

According to police, Syed was detained from Rajkot in Gujarat on 22 August. He was questioned. A formal arrest was made on Sunday.

BJP shared photo of accused with AAP MLA The Delhi CM office described the attack as part of the planned conspiracy to kill the Chief Minister. At the same time, BJP MLA Harish Khurana claimed to be involved in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the incident. He shared a photo of the accused with AAP MLA Gopal Italia of Gujarat on X.
The Gujarat unit of AAP described the photo as edited and alleged that the BJP tampered with Gopal Italia’s photo using AI. Italia said that she was edited by taking screenshots from an old video of her. He also shared a link to the video.

AAP demand- CCTV of attack should be issued
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) questioned the police action regarding the attack. Party state president Saurabh Bhardwaj in Delhi said- No one has seen the CCTV footage of the attack on Rekha Gupta so far. Earlier, Arvind Kejriwal also had several attacks. The police used to release the video then.
