Money Plant Growing Tips: A money plant kept in the window, balcony or any corner of the room often looks green even without much effort. This is the reason why the number of people who plant it at home is very high, but sometimes even after watering and taking care of it for months, its vine does not grow. New leaves come, but their pace is very slow. In such a situation, most people increase the amount of water, whereas the problem may lie somewhere else. For good growth of money plant, proper light, water, soil, nutrition and balance of temperature are necessary.
If the money plant in your house also looks like a stuck vine, then some small mistakes could be the reason for this. The good thing is that these are not difficult to fix. With the right location and a little regular care, the plant can produce new leaves and branches rapidly.
7 easy ways to increase the growth of money plant
1. Protect from strong sunlight, but provide plenty of light: Money plant likes light, but strong and direct sunlight in the afternoon can cause problems for it. In excessive sunlight, brown or yellow marks may appear on the leaves. Therefore, keep the plant in a place where good natural light comes throughout the day. The place near the window is good for this. When there is very little light, the vine can grow tall, but the distance between the leaves starts increasing.
2. Stop watering daily
It is not necessary to water the money plant daily. This mistake becomes the reason for its slow growth in many homes. Constantly wet soil can increase the risk of root rot. Before watering, check the top layer of the soil with your finger, water only if the soil feels dry. There must be holes in the bottom of the pot for water to drain out. Yellowing leaves and a persistent musty smell from the soil can be a sign of overwatering.
3. Give light fertilizer from time to time
Along with water and light, the plant also needs nutrition. Especially during the growth season, liquid fertilizer can be given in small quantities. Generally, applying fertilizer at an interval of 4 to 6 weeks may be sufficient. Do not make the mistake of adding too much fertilizer here. Excessive fertilizer can damage the roots.

4. If the roots are filled, change the pot
Sometimes the plant looks fine from above, but there is less space for its roots inside the pot. If the roots start coming out of the hole at the bottom or the network of roots is visible in the soil too much, then the plant can be shifted to a slightly larger pot. Instead of choosing a very big pot, choose a pot slightly larger than the old one. Water should not stagnate in the soil.
5. Support the vine and lift it up
Money plant is a naturally climbing plant, if you just let its vine hang down, it will have a different look. For dense and attractive growth, coir pole, moss pole or any strong support can be used. By slowly climbing the vine on the support, the plant gets direction to grow upwards.
6. Avoid direct air of AC
Money plant does not like places with sudden changes in temperature and constant cold wind. Therefore, do not keep it right in front of AC, near a heater or on a window where strong wind blows continuously. Normal room temperature and light humidity can create a better environment for the plant.
