Five days before the elections in Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on phone. Netanyahu invited Modi to light the torch on Israel’s Independence Day on May 12 next year. Giving information about the conversation on social media, he described Modi as his friend. According to Netanyahu, Modi thanked him for the invitation. He said that India and Israel fight together against terrorism. Modi also praised the long-standing relations between the two countries. Indian pilot Smit Mochhar has also received invitation. Netanyahu had earlier spoken to flydubai’s Indian pilot Captain Smit Mochhar on phone. He called Smit a hero of the people of India and Israel and invited him to come to Israel. In that conversation, Netanyahu had said that he wanted to invite Smit and his friend Narendra Modi to light the torch at Israel’s next Independence Day celebration. Now he has mentioned this invitation by talking directly to Modi. On September 30, Omani co-pilot Hamad Al-Hamami attacked Indian Captain Smit Mosquito with a crash axe, in flydubai flight FZ1073 going from Dubai to Tel Aviv. During the attack the plane started descending rapidly. The passengers and crew overpowered the attacker. After this, two other pilots took command of the plane and landed it safely in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. There were 172 people on board the plane. Modi said – Talked to Netanyahu on the situation in West Asia. Prime Minister Modi told on X that both the leaders discussed the recent situation in West Asia and stressed the urgent need to restore peace and stability in the region.
