OpenAI has launched a new AI model GPT-6 Astra. The company is calling it the world’s most intelligent AI model.
OpenAI claims that the Astra model can handle complex tasks like software engineering, science, cybersecurity, financial modeling and data analysis, as well as everyday tasks like tax filing and form filling in minutes.
OpenAI President said – Big leap in AI capabilities
OpenAI President Greg Brockman called the GPT-6 weapon a ‘big leap’ and said that we have reached the era of AGI. He claimed that in future people will consider the launch of Astra as the beginning of the AGI era.
New model will find cyber security flaws on its own
GPT-6 Astra can identify technical vulnerabilities in robust and secure systems. During an internal investigation, Astra discovered two undisclosed security vulnerabilities, which have been reported to the respective developers.
Access to advanced features will be available in a controlled manner
Advanced security features can be used for both defense and attack, so OpenAI has limited access. To avoid security risks, currently only trusted cyber defenders will get this access through the ‘Daybreak Blue’ program.

According to OpenAI, Astra can automatically perform tasks like coding, website creation, scientific analysis and game development without any human help. Its AI agents can complete a 6-hour long task like finding an apartment in less than 10 minutes.
Chatgpt, cloud and grok stalled on the day of launch
On the day of Astra’s rollout, there was a technical glitch in ChatGPT, Cloud and Grok AI simultaneously. Services like login, chat, voice mode and file upload remained disrupted in ChatGPT. However, no concrete evidence has been found that the launch of Astra was behind this.
Plus, Pro and Enterprise users will get first access
According to OpenAI, the GPT-6 Astra model will be rolled out to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users in the coming days. Along with this, its access will also be made available to API developers soon.
