Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Sensex extended its morning gains, rising 720.30 points or 0.95% to the day’s high of 76,873.16 around 11:39 am. The Nifty also strengthened, trading at 24,001.25, up 127.80 points or 0.54%, to cross the 24,000 mark.
Financial stocks continued to drive the stock market rally. Nifty Financial Services gained 0.94%, while Nifty Financial Services Ex-Bank and Nifty MidSmall Financial Services advanced 1.16% and 1.12%, respectively. Nifty Private Bank rose 0.63%, while Nifty PSU Bank gained 0.53%.
Reliance Industries led the Sensex gainers, rising 2.18%, followed by Trent at 2.01%. HDFC Bank gained 1.57%, while ITC, Bajaj Finserv and Adani Ports advanced 1.51%, 1.49% and 1.38%, respectively.
Market volatility eased further, with India VIX declining 5.07% to 10.76. The volatility gauge has fallen from its previous close of 11.34, supporting the positive tone in equities.
