Keeping in mind the safety of sanitation workers, Jodhpur Municipal Corporation has purchased a modern robot for sewerage cleaning. Often, while cleaning sewerage lines, employees lose their lives due to exposure to poisonous gases, in such a situation, now the cleaning work will be done through robots. This robot can work like humans by going into sewerage chambers about 20 feet deep. It has 4 HD cameras and 4 robotic hands. With this, it can rotate 360 degrees and work like a human, with the help of which the mud, stones, plastic and soil accumulated inside the sewerage can be taken out. The Municipal Corporation has spent about Rs 44 lakh on purchasing the robot. Whereas a vehicle worth Rs 19 lakh has also been purchased to carry it. The entire one year trial contract will cost the corporation around Rs 79 lakh.
