US-Israel-Iran War News Live Updates Today: The United States and Iran have reached a deal to extend their ceasefire for 60 days, with President Donald Trump yet to approve it, CNN reported on Thursday, citing officials familiar with the negotiations.
According to the report, the memorandum of understanding would remove constraints on shipping through the vital Strait of Hormuz, end a US blockade and open a 60-day negotiating window focused on Iran’s nuclear programme, including discussions over Tehran’s stockpile of highly enriched uranium.
The development comes after the US military on Thursday accused Iran of violating the ceasefire after Kuwait reported attacks in the latest flare-up, even as negotiations to end the conflict continued in Qatar.
‘Egregious Ceasefire Violation’
US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced Kuwait had intercepted missiles launched by Iran late Wednesday, describing the attack as an ““egregious ceasefire violation.”
Later, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claimed responsibility for targeting “the American airbase that served as the source of the attack”.
Infighting In Lebanon
As tensions rose between Washington and Tehran, Israel also intensified its attacks in Lebanon, including airstrikes in Sidon, Beirut and Tyre cities.
According to media reports, 24 Israeli troops have been killed so far since the infighting in Lebanon began on March 3 — three days after the joint US-Israeli strikes on Iran.
