TVK, which won the maximum number of seats in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, is moving rapidly towards the formation of the government. Party chief Vijay will meet Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at 11 am today. He has left for Lok Bhavan. Vijay had also met the Governor at Lok Bhavan on Wednesday. He staked claim to form the government. However, Vijay had submitted letters of support from only 113 MLAs. The Governor sought letters of support from 118 MLAs. On this Vijay asked for time for support. TVK has 108 seats in the 234-member assembly. Vijay won on two seats, so after leaving one seat it will be reduced to 107. Even if the total seats are 233, the majority will remain 118, hence TVK needs 11 more MLAs. 5 Congress MLAs have supported him. Here, Home Minister Amit Shah will reach Bengal this evening. According to party sources, Shah will first attend the swearing-in ceremony of cabinet expansion in Bihar and from there will proceed directly to Bengal. Shah will discuss the strategy regarding formation of the new government in Bengal. BJP has made him the observer of Bengal. News of split among 20 MLAs in AIADMK: Vijay can also take support from AIADMK if needed. However, there is also news of split among 20 MLAs in AIADMK. It is not clear which party will support him. TVK on Wednesday shifted all its newly elected MLAs to a resort named Four Points in Chengalpattu, Mahabalipuram. NDA in Assam-Puducherry, Congress in Kerala; TVK won in Tamil Nadu. The results of West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Keralam and Puducherry assembly elections came on 4 May. NDA has returned to government in Assam and Puducherry. Governments changed in Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. In Tamil Nadu, Vijay’s 2-year-old party TVK surprised by winning the maximum number of seats. For the first time in 59 years, a government is going to be formed in the state which will not have DMK or AIADMK.
