The stock market is seeing a boom on Monday, September 29, the first trading day of the week. The Sensex rose by 250 points to trading at 80,650. The Nifty is also at about 100 points, it is at 24,750 levels. Of the 30 shares of the Sensex, 21 shares are up and a decline in 9 shares.
The NSE metal and PSU bank sector is seeing a rise of more than 1%. Auto, IT, Media, Pharma, Realty and Private Bank sectors are also boom. Only the FMCG sector is seeing a decline.
Mixed business in global market
- In Asian markets, Japan’s Nikkei is trading 1.02% to 44,892 and Korea’s Kospi is trading at 3,429.
- Hong Kong’s Hangseng index rose by 1.25% to 26,455 and China’s Shanghai Composite climbing 0.13% to 3,832.90.
- On 26 September, the US Dow Jones climbed 0.65% to close at 46,247.29. Nasdaq composite had a gain of 0.44% and S&P 500 0.59%.

FII sold shares worth 5,564 crore on 26 September
- On 26 September, Foreign Investors (FIIs) sold shares worth 5,564 crore in the cash segment. Domestic investors (DIIS) made a net purchase of Rs 5,600 crore.
- So far this month, foreign investors have sold shares worth ₹ 30,018 crore. At the same time, domestic investors have purchased a net of ₹ 55,491 crore during this period.
- In August, foreign investors have sold shares worth ₹ 46,902.92 crore. At the same time, domestic investors made net purchases of Rs 94,828.55 crore during this period.
The Sensex closed down 733 points on Friday
On Friday, September 26, the Sensex fell 733 points to close at 80,426. The Nifty also declined by 236 points, it closed at 24,655 levels. Out of 30 Sensex’s 30 shares, 25 shares closed down.
