Naira Energy has increased the prices of petrol and diesel. The company has increased the price of petrol by ₹ 5 per liter and diesel by ₹ 3 per liter. The new prices have come into effect from Saturday morning.
After this increase, one liter petrol in Bhopal has become ₹ 119.54 and diesel ₹ 103.64. This decision has been taken to reduce the gap between retail prices and rising costs after the rise in crude oil prices in the international market.

Prices were increased in the beginning of the year too, later reduced
Earlier this year, when global energy supply was affected due to Iran conflict, the company had also made petrol costlier by ₹ 5 and diesel by ₹ 3 per liter on March 26.
However, later when tensions in West Asia eased and international crude prices fell, the company made petrol cheaper by ₹ 5 and diesel by ₹ 3 per liter on July 1.
Government companies did not increase prices
Currently, government oil companies Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) have not made any change in the prices. Jio has also not made any changes yet.

Government companies had increased in May
After increasing the prices of private companies, government oil companies also increased the prices. In May, IOC, BPCL and HPCL had increased the prices of both petrol and diesel in installments by a total of ₹7.50-₹7.50 per liter citing expensive international crude. These three government companies control more than 90% of the more than 1 lakh petrol pumps in the country.
