Rajasthan Schools Closed: Amid predictions of heavy rainfall in the coming days, authorities in several districts of Rajasthan have declared school holidays on July 28 and 29 as a precautionary measure.
District collectors from Baran, Anta, BanswaraKota, Dungarpur, Jhalawar, Bhilwara, Ajmer, Tonkand Chittorgarh have issued official orders to keep schools shut due to the weather situation, as reported by news agency PTI.
Widespread rainfall was reported on Sunday across multiple regions, including Pali, Ajmer, Tonkand Baran.
According to the Meteorological Centre in Jaipur, a well-marked low-pressure system — which had previously weakened from a depression over Madhya Pradesh — is now positioned over the north-central parts of Rajasthan, leading to consistent and widespread showers in the state.
Several areas, notably Pali, Chittorgarh, and Baran, experienced continued rainfall throughout Sunday. In Be aware area of Pali, heavy rainfall lasting nearly two hours led to waterlogging and road flooding.
Due to the influence of this low-pressure system, districts such as Kota, Udaipur, Jaipur, Bharatpurand Jodhpur have recorded heavy to very heavy rainfall in the past 24 hours. The highest rainfall was reported in Kushalgarh, Banswarawhich received 136 mm of rain.
The Jaipur MeT office earlier predicted heavy to very heavy rain in several parts of the Udaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Jodhpur, and Jaipur divisions on Sunday, with a possibility of extremely heavy rainfall at isolated spots in Kota and Udaipur divisions.

For Monday, the forecast suggests that regions in BharatpurKota, and Udaipur divisions may receive heavy to extremely heavy rainfall, while Jaipur, Ajmer, and Jodhpur divisions are also expected to get heavy showers.
On July 29 and 30, BharatpurJaipur, and Ajmer divisions are likely to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall, while parts of Bikaner division may receive moderate to heavy rain at isolated locations, according to the MeT department.
