The INDIA bloc will stage protests at district magistrate offices across the country from October 2 to October 8 on the “vote chori” row. All opposition MPs will march to the Election Commission on October 6, said Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.

The senior Congress leader said opposition leaders will seek an appointment with the President in the second week of October to apprise her of the manner in which institutions are being taken over.

An INDIA Bloc rally is also scheduled to be held on the issue on November 1, CPI MP P Sandosh informed.

CPI(M-L) leader Dipankar Bhattacharya said, “We will launch a massive mass movement across the country on this issue. Starting from October 2, on Gandhi Jayanti, we will implement a one-week program in every district of the country. This movement will continue. We will also seek an appointment with the President and submit our memorandum. There will also be a march by all our MPs to the Election Commission.”

After the INDIA bloc meeting, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said all alliance leaders were personally committed to ensuring that those who had “destroyed Indian democracy” are punished.

“It doesn’t matter how senior they are, who they are; Indian democracy is bigger than every single person in this country. There was also a feeling in the room that the opposition has been quite successful in putting a cross to the people of India that elections are stolen, that Narendra Modi and Amit Shah have destroyed democracy, and there is a new sense of resistance, particularly among young people, that what is going on in India is wrong and needs to be stopped,” he said.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav alleged that the 2025 Bihar election was a “complete fraud” and said those involved in the alleged conspiracy against democracy would have to “pay the price”.

“The SIR began from Bihar itself, and at that time too we had said that a major conspiracy was being hatched keeping the elections in mind. The way it has been exposed proves that the elections in Bengal and Bihar were conducted by fraudulent means. We all already had suspicions when the laws and rules were being changed. Laws were being brought to protect Gyanesh Kumar so that he could not be arrested… the rules were altered and the Chief Justice was removed from the panel that appoints the Election Commissioners… Since then, we had a feeling that Gyanesh Kumar was just a puppet. The real work is being done by PM Modi and Amit Shah. In the coming times, the truth will come out before everyone,” he said.
