Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has called a meeting of the seven-member coordination committee constituted for the Jaagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act, 2026 on September 27.

The meeting will be held at 1 pm at the Chief Minister’s residence in Sector 2, Chandigarh, with all members of the committee scheduled to attend. The panel will deliberate on the provisions of the Act and matters related to its implementation.

Committee To Discuss Act’s Implementation

According to an official communication from the Punjab government, the meeting will focus on issues concerning the provisions of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act, 2026 and its implementation.

The government said the meeting has been called with the objective of upholding the highest standards of satkar and reverence for Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

The seven-member coordination committee comprises Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh, Sant Giani Harnaam Singh Khalsa, Sant Baba Sewa Singh, former Justice Jaswinder Singh, former Justice Gurbir Singh, former IPS officer Jatinder Singh Aulakh and Advocate S. Preet Inder Paul Singh.

The committee’s September 27 meeting will centre on deliberations concerning the legislation and steps related to its implementation.
