External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar delivered India’s message at the 81st United Nations General Assembly, calling for an end to war, restraint amid ongoing conflicts and stronger international cooperation.Jaishankar said countries far from conflicts are also facing their consequences and stressed the need to protect civilians and ensure the uninterrupted flow of energy and commerce. He also called for a firm global approach to terrorism, saying governments involved in cross-border terrorism must be held accountable.On maritime security, Jaishankar highlighted repeated attacks on commercial shipping and seafarers in the Gulf, Red Sea and other key waterways.
