India launched a scathing attack on Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif after he blamed “Indian-sponsored terror proxies”, without any proof, for the suicide attack outside a district court in Islamabad that killed at least 12 people and injured 27 others.
Sharif blamed “Indian-sponsored terrorist proxies” for the Islamabad attack, as well as an attack on a cadet college near the border with Afghanistan, without offering any evidence. “Both attacks are the worst examples of Indian state terrorism in the region,” Sharif said, without any proof to back up his statement.
India responded to Sharif’s remark by calling it a “predictable tactic” to “concoct false narratives against India” to deflect attention from its own problems, and termed the accusation as a “desperate diversionary ploy”.
“India unequivocally rejects the baseless and unfounded allegations being made by an obviously delirious Pakistani leadership. It is a predictable tactic by Pakistan to concoct false narratives against India in order to deflect the attention of its own public from the ongoing military-inspired constitutional subversion and power-grab unfolding within the country,” said Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal in a statement.
“The international community is well aware of the reality and will not be misled by Pakistan’s desperate diversionary ploys,” he further said.
Pakistani Taliban Takes Responsibility
Notably, the Pakistani Taliban militant group have claimed responsibility for the attack outside the district court building in a residential area of Pakistan’s capital on Tuesday, which killed at least 12 people and injured 27 others. The incident took place amid international events being hosted in Islamabad, including the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference.
