The Special Odisha Teachers Eligibility Test (OTET), scheduled for August 31, has been deferred once more due to “unavoidable circumstances,” the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) announced on Thursday.
In its notification, the BSE stated, “It is for the information of all concerned that Special OTET-2025 (Paper-I & Paper-II) scheduled to be held on August 31, 2025, is hereby deferred due to some unavoidable circumstances and will be held shortly.”
This is the second postponement of the recruitment exam. The written test, originally slated for July 20, was cancelled a day earlier after a handwritten copy of the question paper, along with answers that matched the official sets prepared by the BSE, surfaced on Facebook and other social media platforms.
The incident prompted a CID-Crime Branch investigation, which has so far led to the arrest of eight people, including the BSE vice-president, for their alleged role in the leak.
Fresh dates for the Special OTET 2025 will be announced soon, officials added.

SSC CGL 2025 Exam Postponed Due To Technical Issues
Earlier, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) postponed the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2025, which was earlier scheduled to be conducted from August 13 to 30. The Commission announced that the revised dates will be announced soon on the official website.
According to officials, the decision comes after several technical glitches — including server crashes, login failures, and questions not loading — disrupted the recent SSC Selection Post (Phase XIII) exam. To avoid a repeat of such issues, the CGL exam will now be held in the first week of September.
The SSC further stated that, in compliance with directions of the Supreme Court (Writ Petition Civil 234/2018), it has initiated reforms in Computer-Based Examinations (CBEs). Measures such as Aadhaar-based authentication and enhanced security protocols have been introduced to safeguard the integrity of the examination process and prevent incidents of paper leaks or malpractice.
