Earlier, campaigning on these seats had stopped on Tuesday evening. Voting will be held on July 30 from 7 am to 6 pm while counting of votes will be done on August 3.

BJP had earlier fielded Nitin Naveen’s close aide Abhishek Kumar Sinha from this seat. He had also filed nomination but on July 10, Abhishek Kumar suddenly withdrew his name citing family reasons.

Datia How is the equation on the seat?

The administration has made complete preparations for voting in Datia assembly seat. A total of 291 polling centers have been set up in the assembly constituency, out of which 186 polling centers are in rural areas while 105 polling centers are in urban areas. There are a total of more than 2.20 lakh voters in this seat, of which about 1.16 lakh are men and 1.4 lakh are women.

On the Datia seat, the contest is between Ashutosh Tiwari of BJP and Ghanshyam Singh of Congress. The campaign for the by-election on the assembly seat came to a halt on Tuesday evening. Voting will take place on July 30 while counting of votes will take place on August 3. Superintendent of Police Mayur Khandelwal said that in view of the voting, all the security companies have been deployed and a control room has also been set up, where immediate action will be taken on every complaint made.

He said the police were keeping a special watch on suspicious persons and strict action would be taken against those trying to influence the voting process or disturb law and order.

Let us tell you that in the 2023 assembly elections, Congress candidate Rajendra Bharti had defeated the then state Home Minister Narottam Mishra by more than 7,500 votes, but in April this year, a Delhi court had sentenced Bharti to three years of imprisonment in a fraud case, after which his assembly membership ended and it became necessary to hold by-elections on Datia seat.

Contest between BJP and Congress on Manjalpur seat

By-election will also be held on Manjalpur assembly seat of Vadodara district of Gujarat on July 30. This seat became vacant after the death of BJP MLA Yogesh Patel, due to which by-election is being held on this seat.

Manjalpur seat is considered a Patidar dominated seat. BJP has tried to woo this community by giving ticket to a Patidar leader. Through this decision, BJP has indicated to maintain the trust of Patidar voters even after the death of Yogesh Patel. On the other hand, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party are also making a strategy to break into this stronghold of BJP. This contest has become quite interesting now that Congress has fielded an experienced leader.
