The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Sunday released the exam city intimation slips for candidates appearing in the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination, scheduled to be held on June 21.
Candidates can now check and download their allotted examination city by logging in to the official NTA portal using their application number and password.
In a post on X, the agency announced the release of the city slips and urged candidates to verify their allotted locations ahead of the examination.
According to an official notice, the NEET-UG 2026 re-exam will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode from 2 pm to 5:15 pm across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad.
The NTA clarified that the city intimation slip is not the admit card and has been issued only to inform candidates about the city where their examination centre will be located.
“This is NOT the Admit Card. It shows only your exam city. The Admit Card will be issued later,” the agency said.
The testing body added that it has made efforts to allot candidates their preferred examination city wherever possible.
Candidates have been advised to regularly visit the official NTA websites for updates regarding the release of admit cards and other examination-related announcements.
Why Is NEET-UG Being Re-Conducted?
The NEET-UG 2026 examination, which serves as the gateway for admissions to undergraduate medical courses across India, was originally conducted on May 3.
However, the NTA cancelled the exam on May 12 following allegations of a question paper leak. The controversy triggered nationwide concerns over the integrity of the examination process and led to multiple investigations.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is currently probing the alleged paper leak and related irregularities.
In light of the ongoing investigation, the NTA announced a fresh examination, which is scheduled to be held on June 21.
The re-test is expected to be taken by lakhs of candidates seeking admission to MBBS, BDS and other undergraduate medical programmes across the country.
