Mumbai Weather Forecast News, Rains Today Live Updates: Mumbai woke up to heavy rain on Wednesday, with forecasts suggesting the wet spell will continue through the week.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the city and adjoining districts, warning of heavy rainfall and gusty winds.
According to the IMD, Mumbai and its suburbs are likely to remain under generally cloudy skies with intermittent heavy showers. Wind speeds may reach 40-50 kmph in some areas.
On Tuesday, the city recorded over 100 mm of rainfall for the second day in a row. The suburbs have received more than 200 mm of rain over the past 48 hours, easing the rainfall deficit that had built up earlier in the month.
Between Monday and Tuesday morning, the Santacruz observatory recorded 108 mm of rain, while Colaba registered 40 mm.
