US President Donald Trump has hinted at fresh military action against Iran, saying Washington could launch another operation if Tehran fails to agree to a deal, hours after a US envoy said strikes could come as soon as this weekend.
“We may do another little Epic Fury,” Trump told a rally in Florida on Friday, referring to the US military’s name for its war against Iran.

If they’re smart, they will just say, “Let’s get down to business.”

His remarks came after Tom Barrack, the US ambassador to Turkey and Washington’s point man on Syria, said a strike against Iran this weekend was possible.
“Could there be a strike this weekend? Absolutely,” Barrack told podcast host Mario Nawfal during an interview while visiting the Gulf.
Trump Plays Down Envoy’s Remarks
Earlier before the rally, Trump appeared to distance himself from Barrack’s comments when asked whether an attack could come this weekend.
“That was my ambassador? He’s a pretty powerful man, I guess. If that’s the case, I don’t know anything about it,” Trump told reporters in Florida.
Barrack, who does not have a direct role in Iran policy, also said Washington was not seeking to overthrow Iran’s government.
“If you keep threatening the world, our allies, the Gulf, there will be a consequence. The consequence won’t be regime change,” he said.
War Tensions And Regional Risks
Trump also questioned whether Iran would agree to a deal, saying: “If they’re smart, they’ll just say, ‘Let’s get down to business.’”
Earlier this month, he said the US would not launch another attack before the November 3 midterm elections, which will determine control of Congress.
The conflict is nearing its eighth month, with US-Israeli strikes on Iran and Israeli attacks on Lebanon having killed thousands and displaced millions.
The war has also driven up fuel prices, adding economic pressure ahead of the US elections.
