US President Donald Trump made this claim during an election rally in Florida on Friday.
US President Donald Trump claimed on Friday that he had warned both the countries to impose 250% tariff to stop the war between India and Pakistan.
He said that it was clearly told to both the countries that if the fighting was not stopped, America would stop doing business with them. According to him, after his warning, India and Pakistan stopped firing.
Trump said – both countries got angry, then stopped firing
Trump said during an election rally in Florida that both India and Pakistan are nuclear weapon countries. He told both countries that if they continued the fight, America would impose heavy tariffs on their goods.
He claimed that his warning angered both countries, but they stopped firing and the war ended. Trump said, “11 planes were shot down during the war. I got it stopped and it’s an honor for me to do that.”
India has rejected these claims of Trump many times
India has consistently denied any third-party mediation. According to India, the agreement to halt military operations during Operation Sindoor was reached when Pakistan’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) contacted and demanded a halt to operations.
Also, India has consistently rejected Trump’s claim that 11 aircraft were shot down during the India-Pakistan military confrontation. India has also clearly stated that there was no mediation by any third country in conducting the ceasefire between the two countries.
Operation Sindoor was started in response to the Pahalgam attack.
India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 last year. This action was taken in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22.
The objective of this operation was to destroy the hideouts of terrorists in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK). These also included the hideouts which were used to plan the Pahalgam attack.
The Indian Army targeted many important locations of terrorists in these attacks. After this, on May 10, the military action was stopped after a formal request was made by Pakistan.
According to India, the agreement on ceasefire was made after Pakistan demanded to stop the action, and not at the behest of Trump.
