The School Education Department has increased the examination fee for students appearing for the SSLC examination for the first time from Rs 710 to Rs 746.

The Karnataka government has revised the SSLC examination fees for the 2026-27 academic year, increasing the amount payable by fresh, repeat and private candidates. According to the revised fee structure, students appearing for the SSLC examination for the first time will now have to pay Rs 746, up from Rs 710 earlier. The revised fees will apply to candidates appearing for the 2026-27 examination.
Repeat candidates to pay revised fees
The examination fee has also been increased for repeat candidates.
The revised fee structure is:
One subject: Rs 470, up from Rs 448
Two subjects: Rs 587, up from Rs 559
Three or more subjects: Rs 790, up from Rs 752
Fee for private candidates
The registration and examination fees for private candidates have also been revised.
The registration fee for private candidates has increased from Rs 248 to Rs 260.
For private candidates who have already registered and paid the examination fee, the fee has been revised from Rs 72 to Rs 76.
The fee revision has been ordered by the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB).
When will Karnataka SSLC 2027 exams be held?
The SSLC Main Examination 1 for 2027 is expected to be conducted in March-April 2027. The official examination schedule has not yet been released. The detailed timetable is expected to be published on the official KSEAB website once announced.
As per the latest examination rules, Hindi language marks will not be counted towards the total marks for the final SSLC result.

In the 2026 Karnataka SSLC results, a total of 94.1% of the students passed the exam. This was a huge increase from last year when 62.34% of the students cleared the exam. Three students scored full marks, that is, 625 out of 625. The students were Roopa Patil, Jahnavi, and Utsav. Dakhsin Kannada was declared as the top performing district this time.
