Kakanmath Temple: क्या भूतों ने बनवाया था मध्य प्रदेश का यह मंदिर? जानें ककनमठ का अद्भुत रहस्य

Kakanmath Temple: There is a temple in Sihoniya village of Morena district of Madhya Pradesh, which looks like it can collapse any time. This is Kakanmath temple. This temple is very tall and thin. The stones of this temple look as if they have been simply placed on top of each other, without any strong joint. This temple was built by King Kirtiraj of Kachchhapaghat dynasty in the 11th century and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Earlier there used to be a big temple complex here, which also had many small temples, but now only the main temple is seen standing among the ruins.

The most special thing about this temple is its structure. It has been made without cement, lime or spices. Big stones are simply placed one above the other, which is called dry stone technique. It looks loose, but still this temple has been standing firmly for centuries. Due to such a unique structure, many stories and beliefs related to this temple are also popular.

Was this temple built by ghosts?

According to the local people, this temple was not built by humans, but by ghosts or supernatural powers in a single night. It is said that throughout the night these invisible powers were building the temple by joining stones together. But as soon as the first rays of the morning came, they suddenly disappeared and the temple remained incomplete. People believe that the strange and unstable structure of the temple is an indication that something supernatural had happened in it.

Another story is also popular. According to this, King Kirtiraj wanted to build a grand temple for Lord Shiva, but there were many problems in the construction. Then Lord Shiva appeared in the king’s dream and said that the temple could be built in a single night, but the condition was that no human being should see it being built. The king ordered the villagers that no one should leave the house that night. But a small boy got curious and started peeping outside secretly. As soon as the mysterious craftsmen realized that they had been spotted, they immediately stopped work and the temple remained incomplete.

The real story behind this mystery

According to historians, the real story of this temple is not that mysterious or supernatural. This temple is believed to be built during the Kachchhapaghata dynasty, which ruled a large part of Central India. The reason why the temple looks strange and different is that over time the other temples and buildings around it were destroyed, and only the main temple remained. Archaeological studies show that earlier there were many small temples around this temple, which were built in Panchayatan style. Gradually all the other structures broke down due to earthquakes and natural causes.

Whether you believe what historians say or believe in ghost stories, one thing is certain that Kakanmath temple is very special in itself. Its height, rock formations and location make it one of the most unique temple ruins in Central India. Perhaps this is the real secret of its story, this thousand year old temple is still standing even today, although it looks like it could fall any time, but still it does not fall.
