Police in Greater Noida have busted a gang allegedly running an illegal arms supply line from Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura, arresting five men and seizing a cache that points to a steady weapons pipeline feeding the National Capital Region.
Officials recovered three pistols, three country-made firearms and 160 rounds of .32-bore ammunition, along with Rs 50,000 in cash. The arrests followed a targeted operation based on local intelligence about a group ferrying weapons into Gautam Budh Nagar.
The Greater Noida Deputy Commissioner of Police, briefed reporters, calling the crackdown a massive hit on a network that had been moving arms from Mathura into the NCR.
Police said further inquiries are underway to trace the source of the weapons and identify potential buyers linked to the gang.
