An IndiGo flight from Agartala to Delhi was diverted to Lucknow on Tuesday after a smoke warning indication was received from the aircraft’s cargo area.

IndiGo flight 6E6504, carrying 103 passengers and six crew members, landed safely at Lucknow Airport at 6:29 pm, according to the airport authorities.

The Lucknow airport immediately activated its emergency response protocol following the diversion.

Fire and rescue, ambulance, medical, security and terminal support teams were deployed to facilitate the aircraft’s safe landing and assist passengers and crew.

“All necessary assistance was provided and the situation was handled smoothly,” the airport authorities said.

There were no casualties or untoward incidents reported in connection with the diversion.

The flight, IX1253, landed safely at Lucknow Airport with 155 passengers on board. Emergency response teams were deployed, but preliminary checks found no smoke or fire on the aircraft. The plane was subsequently moved to a hangar for further technical inspection.

The incident bears similarities to Tuesday’s IndiGo diversion.
