US-Iran War LIVE Updates: Gulf States Shelve Hormuz Talks With Iran As Yemen Conflict Escalates

US-Iran War LIVE Updates: The US military has rejected an Iranian Revolutionary Guards claim that an oil tanker struck a naval mine in the Strait of Hormuz, calling the assertion “FALSE”.

US Central Command said the Panama-flagged El Gaia was hit by an Iranian missile last month and rendered inoperable before being struck again by a drone over the weekend while off the coast of Oman. The tanker is now being towed by a regional partner.

Meanwhile, Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis said Saudi Arabia carried out 54 airstrikes across the country over 24 hours. The claims came after the group said it had launched drones and missiles at Saudi military facilities.

Amid the escalation, US President Donald Trump said Washington was open to talks with Tehran, saying Iran wants a deal “quickly and badly”. Trump said he would decide whether the US would engage.

A Pentagon watchdog report, meanwhile, warned that the war has caused “strategic inventory shortfalls” in advanced US weapons and exposed bottlenecks in munitions production. The report also documented damage to US bases, aircraft and diplomatic facilities across the region.
