The HTET is a mandatory qualification for candidates seeking teaching jobs in government schools in Haryana. The exam is conducted at three levels — Level 1 for primary teachers (PRT), Level 2 for trained graduate teachers (TGT), and Level 3 for postgraduate teachers (PGT).
The test is held offline with 150 multiple-choice questions for 150 marks, and candidates must secure at least 60% marks (55% for reserved categories of Haryana) to qualify. Results are declared online, and successful candidates are awarded an eligibility certificate valid for seven years.
It is important to note that HTET is not a direct recruitment exam but an eligibility test. Candidates who qualify can apply for government school teaching vacancies in Haryana. Their final selection depends on meeting the eligibility criteria, clearing recruitment procedures of the respective school authorities, and presenting the HTET certificate at the time of job application.
