The fire broke out in a building named Shanta Bhawan at around 10 pm.
Two people, including a two and a half year old child, died in a fire in Mumbai’s Vile Parle. A fire broke out on the 11th floor of a residential building on Tuesday night. The fire brigade rescued four people including two women, a man and a child and sent them to the hospital.
The incident took place in a building named Shanta Bhawan at around 10 pm. According to civic officials, the fire has been brought under control.
According to Dr. Mugdha, CMO of Nanavati Hospital, information was received that six people were injured. Two of them were declared dead when brought to the hospital. The deceased have been identified as two and a half year old Abir and 23 year old Ankita.

The fire brigade controlled the situation and rescued the people.
Fire reached level-1 to level-2
Mumbai Fire Brigade declared the fire as Level-1 i.e. minor fire at 10:08 pm. At 10:16 pm it was reduced to Level-2 i.e. medium level fire.
Officials said the cause of the fire could not be known. To extinguish the fire, fire brigade, police, area electricity supply company, ambulance service and BMC ward staff reached the spot. The cooling operation continued till late night.
