Joheirry Mola Dominguez of the Dominican Republic was crowned Miss World 2026 on Saturday, winning the global beauty pageant at its grand finale in Vietnam. She succeeds Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri, who won the title in 2025.

Mola, 24, emerged as the winner after competing against contestants from around the world. Spain’s Elisabeth Reynés Alabern was named first runner-up, while Malaysia’s Taanusiya Chetty finished as second runner-up.

A graduate in Business Management and Administration from Universidad Iberoamericana, Mola is a teacher of Literature and Social Studies, a professional model and a news correspondent. She also founded and leads Voices of Tomorrow, an initiative aimed at expanding English education and creating opportunities for children and young people in vulnerable communities.

Mola has also worked as a correspondent for Univision New York’s Ventana a Quisqueya, where she has highlighted Dominican culture, social issues and community stories. The Miss World organisation has previously highlighted her work with children and community programmes, including regular visits to orphanages and girls’ homes.

Her victory gives the Dominican Republic its second Miss World crown. The country’s previous winner was Mariasela Álvarez, who won the title in 1982.

India was represented by Nikita Porwal, whose Miss World 2026 campaign ended after she reached the Top 40.
