Chelsea’s search for a new manager gathers pace as Como president opens door for Cesc Fàbregas amidst the club’s ongoing struggles.

Como president Mirwan Suwarso has said that if his team’s coach, Cesc Fabregas, wants to go and coach Chelsea, he and his management wouldn’t stop him from doing so, with the English club searching for a replacement for Liam Rosenior, who they sacked earlier this week.
Beaten seven times in their last eight games across all competitions, Chelsea have gone five successive league matches without scoring, marking their worst run in front of goal since 1912.
Rosenior had been lured away from Strasbourg, the French club which is affiliated to Chelsea’s American owners, in January after the departure of Enzo Maresca.
“If that makes him happy, that is him. You want your employees to stay with you for as long as possible, but at the end of the day, we don’t own him and he is free to go to Chelsea if he wishes,” Suwarso said while speaking to City AM.
Chelsea are once again searching for a new manager after parting ways with Rosenior. He was dismissed this week after the club’s sixth loss in their last seven games across all competitions.
Chelsea have yet to settle on a preferred managerial candidate, but Fàbregas is understood to be among a group of coaches being considered for the role this summer. Xabi Alonso, Andoni Iraola, Frank Lampard and Filipe Luís are also in the mix, according to reports, with no final decision made till now.
A 3-0 loss to Brighton on Tuesday that Rosenior himself labelled ‘unacceptable’ proved to be the final straw for the Blues’ hierarchy.
“Chelsea Football Club has today parted company with Head Coach Liam Rosenior. This hasn’t been a decision the club has taken lightly; however, recent results and performances have fallen below the necessary standards with still so much more to play for this season,” a statement said.
