At least 23 people were injured when OmniRide and Fairfax Connector buses collided near the Pentagon, including 10 US Department of Defense personnel, investigation ongoing.

At least 23 people were injured after two transit buses collided head-on near the Pentagon on Friday morning, officials said.
The crash involved an OmniRide bus and a Fairfax Connector bus and occurred shortly before 7:30 a.m., according to the Pentagon Force Protection Agency. Emergency responders transported 18 injured passengers to nearby hospitals, while five others were treated at the scene.
Among those injured were 10 personnel from the US Department of Defense.
Authorities closed Metro Access Road as investigations into the cause of the crash got underway, disrupting transit operations in the area for several hours.
The Arlington Fire Department confirmed its response to the incident but directed further inquiries to the Pentagon Force Protection Agency.
Officials have not yet determined what led to the collision, and an investigation is ongoing.
