The CJP convenor urged governments across the country to treat the condition of public education as an urgent priority and take steps to improve government schools on a “war footing”.
Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder and convenor Abhijeet Dipke has written to the education ministers of all states seeking detailed information on government school infrastructure, teacher vacancies, funding and other issues affecting public education.
In his letter, Dipke raised concerns over the condition of several government schools, saying that even 80 years after India gained Independence, children in many parts of the country still lack access to basic facilities such as safe drinking water, functional toilets, proper classrooms and benches.
“The visuals emerging from government schools and circulating on social media should make all of us deeply concerned. No child in this country should be forced to study in such conditions. They are being treated worse than animals,” Dipke said.
The CJP convenor urged governments across the country to treat the condition of public education as an urgent priority and take steps to improve government schools on a “war footing”.
“This is not about politics or any one government. This is about the future of our children,” he said, adding that his party hoped the respective education ministries would make the information public and take urgent measures to ensure that no child is denied a dignified education because of inadequate infrastructure.
In the letter, Dipke sought answers to six key questions concerning government schools in each state.
1. How many government schools in the state have been renovated in the last five years, and how many currently require repairs or complete renovation?
2. How many teaching positions are currently sanctioned, how many are filled, and how many remain vacant?
3. How much money has been allocated for government schools in the last five years, and how much of it has actually been spent?
4. How many additional government schools are required to ensure that every child has reasonable access to quality education?
5. Apart from teaching, what non-teaching duties and responsibilities are assigned to government school teachers?
6. How many government schools currently have adequate access to computers and digital learning facilities, clean and functional toilets, and proper sports facilities and equipment for children?

The letter comes amid a series of surprise inspections by CJP leaders at government schools, during which they have highlighted the lack of basic facilities such as functional toilets, benches and other essential infrastructure.
Meanwhile, an FIR has been registered against Dipke over the alleged unauthorised entry into a Zilla Parishad school in Latur’s Ausa. The police said the CJP chief entered the school without permission and obstructed official duties.
