The case against Excel Entertainment for alleged loss of Rs 45 crore against Ranveer Singh for his exit from Don 3 has now reached IMPPA. Father Jagjit Singh has presented Ranveer’s side before the association. His legal team has raised questions on the jurisdiction of IMPPA.
The dispute between Ranveer Singh and the makers of the film Don 3 has reached a new turn. After his alleged exit from the film, it was revealed that Excel Entertainment had claimed compensation of around Rs 45 crore from Ranveer Singh. In this matter, Ranveer’s father Jagjit Singh Bhawani has approached IMPPA i.e. Indian Motion Picture Producers Association.

Father Jagjit Singh Bhavani stood with son Ranveer in the Don 3 controversy.
Ranveer’s father had reached IMPPA
On August 18, Jagjit Singh Bhavani met IMPPA officials. While presenting his side on behalf of Ranveer Singh, he had handed over the related documents and other materials to the association. IMPPA President Abhay Sinha had confirmed the meeting and said that the meeting went well. Now the legal team of the association is examining the documents and claims of both the parties.
Legal team separately raised questions on IMPPA’s jurisdiction
On the other hand, Ranveer Singh’s legal team has raised questions on the role of IMPPA. According to reports, the team has given a formal reply to the association saying that IMPPA does not have the authority to decide on this dispute.
Ranveer has said that there was allegedly no formal contract between him and Excel Entertainment, but there was an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding). His legal team has opposed the claim of Rs 45 crore and asked IMPPA not to interfere.
According to reports, Ranveer’s legal team has warned IMPPA that they can take legal action if the association passes any resolution or decision against the actor. It has been argued on behalf of Ranveer that if there is a dispute between Excel Entertainment and the actor and it is not resolved through mutual talks, then the matter should go to court.

Abhay Sinha is the President of the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association.
What did Abhay Sinha say to Dainik Bhaskar?
Talking to Dainik Bhaskar on this matter, IMPPA President Abhay Sinha said that this case came to IMPPA about a week ago. At present the legal team of the association is working on this.
Abhay Sinha said that the documents and claims of both the parties are being investigated. He told that this matter will be discussed in detail in a press conference next week.
At present IMPPA has not given any final decision on this dispute. The legal team of the association will examine the documents and claims of both the parties.
What is the dispute of Rs 45 crore?
In fact, after Ranveer Singh’s alleged separation from Don 3, there were reports of the film’s producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s company Excel Entertainment demanding compensation for the loss of about Rs 45 crore from the actor.
It was told that due to Ranveer being out of the film, the producers suffered financial losses in production preparations and other work. Regarding this dispute, the matter had earlier reached other institutions of the film industry also.

FWICE had also issued non-cooperation directive
In May, Federation of Western India Cine Employees i.e. FWICE had issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh. However, this directive was withdrawn in June after talks with various industry bodies.
Now the matter is before IMPPA. On one hand the association is examining the documents of both the parties, while Ranveer’s legal team is raising questions on the jurisdiction of IMPPA. In such a situation, the press conference of IMPPA to be held next week is considered important in this controversy.
Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh has started shooting for his next project Pralaya. This is a zombie-based thriller being made under the direction of Jai Mehta, in which Kalyani Priyadarshan will also be seen along with him.
