If you or someone in your family is a beneficiary of CGHS (Central Government Health Scheme), now treatment has become easier under the scheme. The central government has made 5 major changes in 2025 to make CGHS completely digital and more convenient. After new changes, there will be no need to show the line, carrying payment slip or repeated documents for treatment.
1. New HMIS portal and mobile app
The Ministry of Health has given the new HMIS portal (www.cghs.mohfw.gov.in) And My CGHS Mobile App has launched. With this, you can take advantage of facility like appointment booking, e-card download, medical reports on your mobile.
2.Pan based unique CGHS ID
Now the beneficiary will get the unique CGHS ID linked to the PAN card, which will eliminate the possibility of fraud and all the records of the family will be found in one place. Earlier, every time the card renew had to show the old documents, there will be no need to show repeated documents from the new ID.
3. Digital payment facility Now CGHS fees or renewal will be on the new HMIS portal only. The old Bharatkosh portal has been closed. This will lead to verification immediately after payment. There will be no need to carry slip to CGHS office after payment.
4. online approval of Life Saving Medical device
In the new changes, online application and approval facility for essential machines like oxygen concentrator, CPAP, BIPAP has been started. Earlier, for its approval, one had to go to the wellness center and apply several times. Now you can get approval in 5 days instead of 20 days.
5. SMS and email alert on every step
Now any work related to CGHS, whether applied, approval or payment is verified, you will get information about every step by SMS and email. After this, you do not need to go to call calls or CGHS office again and again.
