Carlos Alcaraz defeated Jiri Lehecka to claim the Queen’s Club title for the second time in his career on Sunday as the Spaniard warmed up for the upcoming grass court Grand Slam event at Wimbledon.
The 22-year-old posted a 7-5, 6-7 (5/7), 6-2 triumph over his Czech opponent in the summit clash at the Andy Murray Arena.

Alcaraz started his campaign in the tune-up event with a straight-sets win over Australian Adam Walton, before showing compatriot Jaunme Munar the exit door in the Round of 16. Arthur Rinderknech was no match for the Spaniard Alcaraz, who cruise past the Frenchman in straight sets in the quarterfinals before he ousted another fellow countryman, Roberto Bautista Agut in the semis en route to the championship clash win over Lehecka.
“I’m happy to lift this trophy once again. It’s a nightmare to play against Jiri, but it’s been an incredible week,” the Spaniard said after his win.
“I came without expectations. I just wanted to play good tennis and get used to the grass,” he continued.
“It’s really special playing here every year. I can’t wait to come back next year,” the five-time major winner said.
