The 2025 mandate has reduced the Opposition benches to a mere 35 seats, an alarming contraction marked by a collective loss of 79 seats compared to the previous Assembly.
The NDA, meanwhile, clinched 202 seats, with the BJP becoming the single largest party at 89 seats, followed closely by the JD(U) with 85.

Attacking the opposition, he said, “Some parties in Bihar had created a politics of appeasement with their ‘MY’ formula. But today’s victory has given a new and positive ‘MY’ formula – Mahila and Yuva.”

With the JD(U) on its own crossing the 80 mark in the 243-strong House, just four seats behind the BJP’s 89, Nitish Kumar looks set to take oath as Bihar’s chief minister. However, many believe that the BJP, which emerged as the largest-single party in the Bihar Elections, could field its own CM candidate.
