Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has demanded resignation from Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal. Senior AAP leader Dilip Pandey said that Swati Maliwal was sent to Rajya Sabha by AAP, but she is reading the script of BJP. If she has any shame, she should resign from the post of Rajya Sabha MP and choose the path of Rajya Sabha on BJP ticket.
In fact, Maliwal had reacted strongly to Atishi’s election as Chief Minister in an online post on Tuesday. Describing yesterday as a sad day for Delhi, she had alleged that Atishi’s parents had tried to save terrorist Afzal Guru from being hanged.

Dilip Pandey, MLA from Timarpur, Delhi, said that if Maliwal is reading the script of BJP, then she should go to Rajya Sabha on BJP ticket only.
Read Swati Maliwal’s full statement… Maliwal said that today is a very sad day for Delhi. Today a woman is being made the Chief Minister of Delhi, whose family fought a long battle to save terrorist Afzal Guru from hanging. His parents sent mercy petitions to the President several times that Afzal Guru should not be hanged because he is innocent. He is a victim of political conspiracy.
Today Atishi ji will become the Chief Minister, but we all know that she will only become a dummy or puppet Chief Minister. Still this issue is very big, because she will definitely become the Chief Minister. This issue is directly related to the security of Delhi and the country. May God save the people of Delhi from such a Chief Minister.

Atishi will be the new CM of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal submitted his resignation from the post of CM to Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinay Saxena on Tuesday evening. Atishi and 4 ministers were present with him. After this, Atishi staked claim to form the new government.
In the AAP Legislature Party meeting on Tuesday morning, Kejriwal had proposed that Atishi be made the Chief Minister. The MLAs agreed to this.
Atishi said that till the next elections, I have only two tasks. First- to protect the people of Delhi from the conspiracy of BJP. Second- to make Kejriwal the CM again.
Meanwhile, the Delhi government has called a two-day assembly session on September 26 and 27. On the change of power, the BJP said that the makeover will not hide the stains of AAP.

Two big statements of Atishi…
1. This is a sad moment for us The central government spread propaganda against Kejriwal, made false allegations. Kept him in jail for 6 months. The Supreme Court released him. If it would have been someone else, he would have immediately sat on the CM’s chair. Kejriwal said that I will accept the decision of the people of Delhi. This is a sad moment for us. The people of Delhi are taking a pledge that in the next elections they will make Kejriwal the Chief Minister of Delhi.
2. The people of Delhi are angry Delhi is angry today. They know that if Kejriwal is not the CM, they will not get free electricity, government schools will be in a bad state, good treatment will not be available in hospitals, mohalla clinics will be closed, free bus travel for women and pilgrimages for the elderly will stop. They have seen that there is a BJP government in 22 states. They are not able to provide free electricity or bus travel in any of them.

Two big statements of BJP …
- Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said that Kejriwal has changed the Chief Minister, this is not going to change the fate of the Aam Aadmi Party.
- Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said that AAP leaders are trying to rejuvenate the party. They forget that they can change the face of the party, but not its character. They cannot wash away the black stains of corruption on their character. The only issue for the people of Delhi in the elections will be Arvind Kejriwal’s corruption.
Why did Kejriwal resign, 3 things…
1. There is a Chief Minister, but no power In the Delhi liquor policy case, Arvind Kejriwal came out of jail on bail after 177 days. The Supreme Court laid down a condition that he will not go to the CM office nor sign any file. That means he has no power even after coming out of jail and being the Chief Minister.
2. Only 5 month tenure left The term of the Delhi Assembly is ending in February 2025. That means the government has only 5 months left for the elections. During this time, governments take populist electoral decisions. Kejriwal is bound by the conditions of the court. There is sympathy with Kejriwal after his release from jail. Kejriwal would like to capitalize on this by demanding elections in Delhi two-three months earlier.
3. Will strengthen the image of an honest leader Ever since his name cropped up in the Delhi liquor policy case and his arrest, BJP leaders were demanding that Arvind Kejriwal resign from the post of Chief Minister. After resigning, he will be able to directly tell the BJP leaders that he left the post of Chief Minister only because of the allegations. Now the public will decide his honesty.

On 21 March 2024, Kejriwal was arrested from his house by the ED after two hours of questioning in the liquor policy case. After 177 days, the Supreme Court granted him bail on 13 September 2024.
What will Kejriwal do after his resignation? Kejriwal may step down from the post of Chief Minister, but he will continue to be the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). After his resignation, his entire focus will be on the Haryana Assembly elections. He will be able to campaign full time for the party candidates. AAP is contesting on all 90 seats after the alliance with Congress was not confirmed. Kejriwal himself is a resident of Siwani village in Sirsa district in Haryana.
After this, he will focus on Jharkhand and Maharashtra assembly elections. In Jharkhand, AAP can contest elections in alliance with JMM.
Kejriwal’s political career

Kejriwal’s name was involved in many controversies during his tenure as Chief Minister, the liquor policy scam is the most talked about

- Transfer-posting of officers: On May 11, 2023, the Supreme Court gave the right to control the transfer-posting of officers to the Delhi government. It also said that the Delhi LG will work only on the advice of the state government. Shortly after this order, CM Arvind Kejriwal removed Service Secretary Ashish More. LG has put a stay on this decision taken against Ashish More. Currently the matter is in the Supreme Court.
- Claim of fraud Sukesh- Gifts were given in exchange for the project: Fraudster Sukesh Chandrashekhar has written a letter to Delhi LG Saxena saying that he had sent furniture for house renovation as a gift for getting a project in Karol Bagh.
