The registration process for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2027 is underway, with candidates having until October 31, 2026, to submit their applications. The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) is accepting applications online through the official CLAT website – consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
CLAT scores will be used for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes offered by participating National Law Universities (NLUs) and other affiliated institutions.
The CLAT 2027 examination is scheduled to be conducted on December 6, 2026. The entrance test is used for admission to law programmes across participating NLUs.
CLAT scores are accepted by 26 National Law Universities and more than 60 affiliated law schools across India.
CLAT 2027 Eligibility Criteria
For undergraduate law programmes, candidates must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination with at least 45% marks. The minimum requirement is 40% for candidates belonging to SC, ST and differently-abled categories.
For postgraduate law programmes, candidates from the General, OBC and NRI categories must have secured at least 50% marks in an LLB degree. The minimum requirement for SC, ST and differently-abled candidates is 45%.
Candidates appearing for their final year of the LLB programme are also eligible to apply for CLAT 2027.
