India successfully tested the extended range of BrahMos supersonic cruise missile from Andaman Sea. In this trial, the missile accurately pierced the target in a vertical step dive (diving at 90 degrees angles) without warhead. What is BrahMos missile?
BrahMos is a supersonic cruise missile, which has been created by India’s Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Russia. The BrahMos Aerospace established in 1998 leads the project. Its first test was done in 2001. Since then it has joined the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.

In recent trials, the missile launched from the Andaman Sagar accurately indicate the target without warhead, which reflects its advanced guidance system and accuracy.
