BrahMos hit Bulls Eye: अंडमान में हुए ब्रह्मोस मिसाइल के परीक्षण की सटीकता देखिए… ऐसे ही PAK की धज्जियां उड़ाई थीं

  • The BrahMos supersonic cruise missile hit an accurate target with an expanded range from the Andaman Sea.
  • The missile pierced the target in a vertical step dive mode without a warhead.
  • This ability is important to target mountainous areas and hidden bases.
  • BrahMos’ speed, accuracy and versatility make it the world’s deadliest cruise missile.
  • The joint partnership between India and Russia, developed it by BrahMos Aerospace.

India successfully tested the extended range of BrahMos supersonic cruise missile from Andaman Sea. In this trial, the missile accurately pierced the target in a vertical step dive (diving at 90 degrees angles) without warhead. This achievement further strengthens India’s defense capacity, especially in targeting hilly areas and hidden bases. This missile ruined the terrorist bases present in Pakistan in a similar way.

What is BrahMos missile?

BrahMos is a supersonic cruise missile, which has been created by India’s Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Russia. The BrahMos Aerospace established in 1998 leads the project. Its first test was done in 2001. Since then it has joined the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.

  • motion: Mac 2.8–3.5 (about 3430-4300 km/h).
  • Range: 290 km in general version, 450-800 km in extended range.
  • Warhead: 200–300 kg (traditional or atom).
  • Launch platform: Land, sea, air (Sukhoi-30 mki) and submarine.
  • Properties: ‘Fire and forgate’ theory, low radar signature and accurate target.

BrahMos’s design is based on Russia’s P-800 Onix missile, but it includes Indian technology and guidance system. This missile is capable of penetrating the enemy’s defense mechanisms due to its rapid speed and accuracy.

What is vertical step dive mode?

The vertical step dive mode is a special ability to BrahMos, in which the missile dives the target at an angle of about 90 degrees. This technique enables it to target mountainous areas, caves and hidden bases. Normal cruise missiles fly at a level or low angle, but the missile in steep dive mode attacks the target directly from above, making it difficult to rescue.

On 5 September 2010, BrahMos first set a world record of steep-dive mode in supersonic motion. Since then its capacity has been further advanced. Now it can dive up to 90 degrees. In recent trials, the missile launched from the Andaman Sagar accurately indicate the target without warhead, which reflects its advanced guidance system and accuracy.

Importance of test

  • Pinpoint accuracy: The missile destroyed the target with Bulls-I accuracy (1 meter CEP), which reflects its credibility.
  • extended range: After India joined the Missile Technology Control Regim (MTCR) in 2016, the range of BrahMos has increased from 290 km to 450–800 km.
  • Effective in hilly areas: Step dive mode enables it to destroy hidden bases in mountainous regions, which is strategically important in India’s northeastern borders, such as Arunachal Pradesh and Ladakh.
  • Self -reliance: This test reflects the strength of India’s indigenous defense industry, which includes advanced navigation systems and software.

Why test in Andaman Sea?

Andaman and Nicobar Islands are a strategic region of India, which is important in the Indian Ocean. Long distance test range is available here, which is limited on the mainland. In 2014 and 2022, BrahMos was tested from Andaman Sea, in which it accurately destroyed the target at a distance of 290 km. This time the test without warhead proved the accuracy and reliability of the missile again.

Strategic importance

  • Flaw capacity for China and Pakistan: With the extended range, BrahMos can now destroy the target in deep areas of Pakistan and China, increasing India’s counter -attack capacity.
  • Useful for mountain war: In areas such as Arunachal Pradesh and Ladakh, where enemies can use hidden bases, the step dive mode makes it effective.
  • Navy strength: Indian Navy warships, such as INS Rajput and INS Tegh, are equipped with BrahMos, which can destroy the target on both the sea and the land.
  • Operation Sindoor: In May 2025, BrahMos was used during Operation Sindoor, in which accurate attacks were carried out on Pakistan’s military bases.

future plans

90-Digry Step Dive: BrahMos will soon gain a 90-degree steep dive capacity, which will make it more deadly.

BrahMos-NG and BrahMos-II: The development of hypersonic BrahMos-II (MAC 7-8) and light BrahMos-NG continues, which can be launched with light combat aircraft like Tejas.

Possibility of export: India is planning to export BrahMos to Vietnam, UAE and other countries.
