The winter session of Parliament will continue till December 20. There will be 19 meetings during this period.
Today is the second day of the winter session of Parliament. There are chances of uproar in both the houses over the Adani case and the riots in Sambhal, UP. On the first day of the session on Monday, there was a heated debate between Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.
Actually Dhankhar told Kharge that our Constitution is completing 75 years. Hope you will keep it within limits.
To this, Kharge replied that in these 75 years, my contribution is also 54 years, so don’t teach me. On this Dhankhar said- I respect you so much and you are saying this. I am hurt. After this the proceedings of Rajya Sabha were adjourned till 27 November.
On the other hand, the proceedings of the Lok Sabha also could not be completed. Opposition leaders kept creating ruckus on Adani issue. The House was adjourned till 27 November.

A total of 16 bills will be presented in the session, 11 will be discussed, 5 will be presented for approval. A total of 16 bills are to be introduced during the winter session of Parliament. Of these, 11 bills will be placed for discussion. While 5 will be placed for approval to become laws. The set of bills proposed for One Nation One Election are not part of the list yet, although some reports say the government may bring it in the session.
At the same time, it has been said in the Rajya Sabha Bulletin that an additional bill passed by the Lok Sabha, the Indian Aircraft Bill, is pending for approval in the Rajya Sabha.
JPC members on Waqf bill asked for more time The Joint Committee on the Waqf Amendment Bill is expected to present its report in Parliament on November 29, but only if it adheres to the deadline given in the monsoon session. The JPC has to submit its report on the last day of the first week of the session. However, opposition members have sought extension of time for the panel to submit its report.
On this, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju says that there is a provision to extend the tenure of JPC, but there has been no discussion on it yet. This should be discussed in the Business Advisory Committee.
JPC has held 25 meetings since August 22. Suggestions have been taken from 123 stakeholders, which include 6 ministries, 8 Waqf boards and 4 minority commissions.
The Waqf Act, 1995 was enacted to regulate Waqf properties, but it has been accused of corruption and encroachment. The Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024 aims to bring about reforms, digitization, audit, transparency and create a legal mechanism to take back illegally occupied properties.

Three members of Gandhi family in Parliament for the first time

After Priyanka Gandhi’s victory in Kerala’s Wayanad Lok Sabha by-election, Congress once again has 99 MPs in the Lok Sabha. Wayanad seat was vacated by Rahul Gandhi, while Nanded seat fell vacant due to the death of Congress MP Basantrao Chavan. By-elections have been held recently and both the seats have returned to the Congress.
This will be the first time that three members of the Gandhi family associated with the Congress party will be members of Parliament together. Rahul Gandhi is Lok Sabha MP from Rae Bareli and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is from Wayanad. While Sonia Gandhi is a Rajya Sabha MP from Rajasthan.

12 bills were introduced in the monsoon session, only 4 could be passed. The first monsoon session of the 18th Lok Sabha ran from 22 July to 9 August. A total of 15 meetings were held in the entire session, which lasted for approximately 115 hours. The productivity of the House during the session was 136%. In the same session, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget for 2024-2025 on July 23. The discussion lasted for a total of 27 hours and 19 minutes, in which 181 members participated.

Budget of Rs 48.20 lakh crore, allies benefit

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had made a record of presenting the budget for the seventh consecutive time on July 23. There was a dispute over Agniveer and caste census

There was a heated debate in Parliament between BJP MP Anurag Thakur and opposition leader Rahul Gandhi.
On July 30, BJP MPs Anurag Thakur, Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav clashed over Agniveer and caste census. Without taking the name of Rahul Gandhi, Anurag Thakur said that a slip comes for you to speak. Politics cannot be run with borrowed intelligence.

Jaishankar said in Parliament – Hindus were attacked in Bangladesh

Foreign Minister S Jaishankar had given a statement in both the houses of Parliament on August 6 on the situation in Bangladesh. He had said that people are on the streets in Bangladesh, Hindus have been targeted. This is a matter of concern.
