Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday expressed confidence that the BRICS Summit, being held on September 12-13 in New Delhi, would pave the way for meaningful discussions on various issues.
Writing on X, PM Modi said: “In the next few days, leaders from around the world will gather for the BRICS Summit. We are confident that the summit will lead to positive and meaningful discussions on various issues, with a view to world welfare.”
India is hosting the two-day BRICS Summit in New Delhi on September 12-13, with several world leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, to participate in the event.
The summit is expected to focus on strengthening collective resilience in various sectors including food, energy, disaster reduction and critical supply chains. Pertinent to note that the 18th BRICS Summit is being held against the backdrop of a tense geopolitical situation driven by the US-Israeli war on Iran.
