Chinese Ambassador Xu Feihong affirmed China’s support for India in hosting a successful BRICS Summit this year

Chinese Ambassador to India Xu Feihong on Friday affirmed China’s support for India in hosting “a successful BRICS Summit” this year, stressing that Beijing values cooperation with allies of the grouping.
His statement came a day before a bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit.
Resharing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s post, Xu wrote on X: “China values BRICS cooperation and supports India in hosting a successful BRICS Summit this year”.
On Thursday, PM Narendra Modi wrote on X: “All set for BRICS 2026!” while also sharing a detailed video featuring the Bharat Mandapam Convention centre in New Delhi, where the summit will be held.
Yu Jing, spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in India, also affirmed Beijing’s support for India.
