The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted a fresh examination for the English, Commerce and Sociology papers of UGC-NET June 2026 after a review panel found multiple issues in the question papers. Now, the agency has released the answer key for the re-exam subjects. The last date to raise objection is September 13.

The re-exam was held after an expert committee examined the complaints and identified “substantive issues”. These included factual and typographical mistakes, translation errors, missing names of scholars, garbled book titles and problems with the wording of questions.

UGC NET June 2026 Answer Key: How To Check?

1. First, visit the official UGC NET website – ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

2. On the home page, click on the ‘UGC NET June 2026 Provisional Answer Key’ link.

4. After logging in, the provisional answer key, question paper, and recorded response sheet will appear on the screen.

Steps To Challenge Answer Key

If candidates find any discrepancy in the provisional answer key, they can challenge it through an online objection window provided by the NTA. A non-refundable fee of Rs 200 must be paid for each question challenged. Subject experts then review all objections, and if any are found valid, corrections will be made in the final answer key. The UGC NET June 2026 result will be prepared based on this final version.

Six per cent of applicants who take the exam usually qualify the exam. Additionally, the government’s reservation regulations determine the candidates’ available slots. Numerous criteria are taken into account when preparing the UGC NET cut-off. Additionally, the candidate’s scores from several slots are added up to determine the cut-off.

Candidates who qualify for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor eligibility will be issued a digital e-certificate by NTA. The certificate can be used as proof of eligibility while applying for teaching and research positions in colleges and universities.
