Prime Minister Narendra Modi did yoga with thousands of people on the famous Red Road of Kolkata on Sunday. This program was organized on the occasion of 12th International Yoga Day.
Wearing a white T-shirt and white pants, the Prime Minister did yoga with the common people present there. This program took place at a place where on one side was the Eastern Command of the Indian Army and on the other side was the field.
During this 40-minute session, PM Modi was seen roaming among the people. He was carefully following the rules of yoga and making sure that they were being done correctly.
Many people including CM took part
On many occasions he also helped people to correct their yoga asanas or postures. These yoga exercises were part of a larger yoga demonstration in which people of all ages, including elders and students, participated. In this celebration of Yoga, Governor RN Ravi, west bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari and several ministers including Dilip Ghosh, Agnimitra Paul and Deepak Barman also participated.
In the year 2015, when the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) had approved India’s proposal to celebrate June 21 as ‘International Day of Yoga’. Since then, PM Modi has led the celebration from many places like New Delhi, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Mysuru, New York, Srinagar and Visakhapatnam.
